Hot like that.

Entered into the hallowed book by van

By sheer dumb luck - in so much as I took the unusual (for me) step of actually applying for a job that I'd like to make mine - I may have scored a regular freelance writing gig. I'd be covering the latest news in Anime for kids, as well as reviewing upcoming releases and what not. I've been offered a trial spot right now for the June issue of the magazine in question, which means I have a few weeks to get my shit together. Hot! Adding to that, my first freebies from Australian anime distributor Madman rocked up in the mail this afternoon.

Did Ooda mention that Yahoo! are buying my much loved Flickr? I think he did. Truth to tell, I don't read his posts. Gives me a headache every time. I kid I kid, you're a good sport. So I wonder though, what will this mean for those of us who make bigtime use of Flickr? I admittedly do not have a premium account, but that's mostly because the free account was fulfilling my needs. What am I going to do with a gigabyte of space and bandwidth? Flickr this week assured their users that Yahoo!'s buyout will not spell doom for the website and its free accounts, nor would it result in an influx of morons into the community. Time will tell, I guess.

I was always a big fan of the photos that would flow like so much flowing stuff out of New Orleans (or wherever) every year during their Mardi Gras festivities. But hot diggity damn, It may be fair to say that Rio cannot be beat. Check out these shots. Definitely not safe for work or in the company of prudish prudes.

There's been another school shooting in the US. At least they're still number one for something.

How to find MP3s and what not, via Google's search engine.

Adidas are apparently considering - thought it's a long shot at best right now - manufacturing a limited run of Zissou's; the fake Adidas runners created for Wes Anderson's (brilliant, if not a little slow) movie The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. Seems they've been getting literally swamped (truly - they had a major plumbing problem) with calls asking where folks can buy the shoe and have had to tell each caller that the shoe does not in fact exist. Huh! It's okay though, relax. You can make your own.
